….”Obtained the diploma of ' art ' no Mistress I followed my father's advice that I wanted the drawing teacher, but make me feel differently.
I worked with a decorator and deepen the technique of watercolor I went regularly to lecture by a painter in Turin's historic centre and at the same time I was in evidence as the designer Tappetificio Pahwa, where I then worked ten years.
Reproduced drawings of Persian carpets and making the messincarte (drawings in tempera on paper squared) I owe a lot to the French designer Victor Zigante which was my teacher during the years spent at Pahwa.
During this period the modern rug knew the supremacy on the classic becoming an icon in decor and have learned to appreciate and love a, as much as important natural tactile level, as wool.
During my days , In addition to drawing , I spent some time between the frames and the dry cleaner and following the various work phases could hardly steal secrets that were important for my professional training.
I then had a beautiful thing: I got married to George, Cristina and Elena were born and I put aside all my professional ambitions to make the craft more beautiful in the world: MOM.
I always continued to cultivate interest in everything which represents the textile world and communicate them to art in embroidery work, link, sewing, decoration, painting and drawing. My passion for embroidery was born when I was about six years: My had to move and my sister and I have gone from a great aunt "Magna Ciòta" and every day we taught to embroider the easiest points, then we went to play her in a closet and slipped by and wove. My mom has also helped teach me many things and to give me useful tips related to embroidery.
In 1998 I started as a self-taught dabbling at Bandera Embroidery with which it was love at first sight because it is the technique that best combines manual dexterity of the artist, tactile feel of wool and yarn color combinations. In 2001 I attended a course of embroidery at the headquarters of the Associazione Amici del Bandera Embroidery ' di Chieri which is part of the Textile Museum and in this place I felt looking at the time elapsed between the frames of Pahwa where wool was the absolute protagonist and from that moment: "Tell me only of Bandera!"From a student I went to be Vice-President and 2005 President of the Association.
In these years I have tried to contribute to the success that is having this type of embroidery, dedicating myself to the Organization of courses at our facility, teaching in primary and secondary schools, the Organization of many exhibitions in Italy.
Study and project designs suitable for this type of embroidery, Taking cues from drawings ,antique furniture, architectures and what luck living among beautiful Savoy residences that are a mine of inspiration!
All that to go to enrich the store of our school. With pride I received a prize in the edition of Manually 2005 at the Lingotto fiere di Torino by reproducing the ancient city of Chieri to chainstitch on canvas righetto and a special mention in the Master of Brianza in thread " 2008 as with the technique of embroidery "Bandera a printout of 1850, Finally in Valtopina "mistress of 2013 thread" with this motivation: professionalism award rich in innovation, sensitivity, study and research.
In 2015 per il concorso “Paesaggi in punta d’ago” proposto da Blu Nautilus ho vinto il terzo premio rappresentando la città di Chieri.
There is a dedication, in a book written by my father, whose title is: "60 years and then? ,that has become a phrase that I often come back to mind and I made a constant thought:"You young, We seniors sell the place, Why ravviviate your hopes. To you life can give more if innesterete buds of spring always values ".
This is a wish that appeal to all young people and not wanting to get close to this technique, but that basically has to make us understand how important it is to keep alive the traditions and give a chance to appreciate and learn the "needle painting”.
